Katie Yamasaki is an artist based in Brooklyn, NY. She primarily works as a muralist, children’s book author/illustrator and teaching artist. Her mural work has allowed her to create more than 60 projects in diverse communities around the world. She is currently working on her 4th and 5th books for children which are both due for publication next year. Yamasaki earned her BA from Earlham College in Richmond, IN in 1999 and her MFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York City in 2003, where she is currently a member of the faculty.
